The Celebutantes: On the Avenue by Antonio Pagliarulo

This cross between Gossip Girl and Nancy Drew was a pleasant surprise.  Lexington, Madison and Park are teenage triplets.  Their father is a millionaire and their mother a famous European actress and model.  The triplets spend their days at an expensive private school, and their nights at galas, charity events, and exclusive clubs.  While attending such a charity event, they stumble across a dead body who happens to be wearing a one of a kind dress designed by Lex.  What are triplet celebutantes to do?  Why dress in disguise and break into the murder victim's brownstone to look for clues, of course.  Lots of the resiquite talk of fashion, dropping of names, and complicated romance are included.  But Pagliarula has a sly and witty sense of humor, and doesn't take the story or his characters too seriously.  And he must have picked the main characters' names just so he could do an homage to Abbott and Costello's Who's On First?  Give this to teens who can't wait for the next Gossip Girl to come out.
