Rating:

This book is actually a compilation of the first 3 volumes in the series: Pride & Joy, Teenage Wasteland, and The Good Die Young. The premise is simple yet innovative: six teens inadvertently discover that their parents are evil. Not "won't let me stay out late" evil, but "I have super powers and am going to use them to bring down all of mankind" evil. The teens flee after witnesses a blood sacrifice and resolve to bring down their folks. The color illustrations are excellent and the cover art interspersed throught the book is nothing short of amazing. A must read for graphic novel fans.

I read the Runaways on T's recommendation and I LOVED it, I am anxiously awaiting the other volumes I have ordered for my library. The artwork is fantastic but I just really love the characters and storyline, very creative and original.
