Rating:

Jason and his sister Dani have just moved from Michigan to DeVere Heights, a gated community in Malibu.  They worry that they won't fit in with the "old money" rich kids, but Jason's athletic ability earns him a spot on the swim team and social acceptance.  When he meets the beautiful, mysterious Sienna, Jason thinks he's found everything a boy could possibly want.  The only problem is Sienna is dating Brad, Jason's teammate.

The plot for this book, the first in a series, had potential, but the author just doesn't deliver.  The jokes are cheesy and the dialogue is stilted.  When one of the vampires on the swim team feels weak, he makes a remarkable recovery by drinking the blood of an assistant coach:  "'I got juiced up,' Van Dyke announced.  'Simkins supplied the sweet, sweet Gatorade.'" (27).  The writing lacks subtlety as though the author were writing for children instead of teens.  The catchy title and cover may draw in some readers, but they won't stick around for the sequel.

Bloodlust is an awesome book, and i should know because i'm very picky when it comes to books. This book was great and i think that u shoudln't assume what other people think of the book. That's your opinion...no one elses. Maybe a few people agree....but FYI...all of my friends and I read the sequels and we loved them more than ever.
