Wow.  This book is just incredible.  I started it while waiting for an oil change and I was hooked, I just couldn't put it down.  The story grabs you and just refuses to let you go.  Doug's story is just heartbreaking- he takes everything literally, has no social skills and is a complete loner.  His best friend Andy is the opposite, popular and athletic.  Doug is targeted with cruelty and violence, which only makes him retreat more into his obsession- the imaginary world he has created with this train set.  It is only the bridge he is creating from stripped matches and his nightly talks with Andy that keep Doug together.  The truth about Andy won't come as a surprise when Doug's defenses finally break down and reveal the secret that he struggles to hide from even himself.  Definately a must read.

I really enjoyed Invisible. There was something eerily wrong with the narrator right from the start, and it was riveting to try to figure it out while unravelling the story. The voice was strong, as was the imagery. 5 stars, indeed.

I just read this book and really liked it. Sophisticated readers will be able to guess the secret, but reading the book is like watching a train wreck -- you just can't look away even though you know it isn't going to end well. Highly recommended.

I read the book for a book report for my english class. I thought the book was alright, It was kinda sad and I wanted doug to have a happy ending, but from the beginning of the book things just get worst and worst for him.
